December 6th Action: Save Dimock’s Water Deliveries (day), Testify at Compressor Station Hearing (evening)

December 2, 2011

Dimock Report: You may have heard that the mayor of Binghampton, NY was prepared to deliver water to Dimock.  Julie Sautner’s just sent this message:  “We will NOT recieve a water deliver from the Mayor of Binghampton because our TWSP Supervisiors won’t let him..then they called a Emergency meeting of the Enough Already Group and told them to STOP us..we were not invited to the TWSP meeting….”  Julie and Craig Sautner have been living with contaminated water in Dimock, along with many other families, since 2008.

NOTE: this report and set of requests come straight from the grassroots, no adding of links as usual due to the press of time. For background you can type in “Dimock” or “Scott Ely” to the search engine of this blog and also go to shalegasoutrage.org website, Press page, and click on the story of Craig and Julie Sautner. Today’s New York Times article also profiles Scott Ely of Dimock, whose water and soil have been contaminated, with his family’s health compromised, by Cabot’s gas drilling.  Cabot has ceased delivering clean water to affected families and the grassroots is stepping up and stepping in!

Protecting Our Waters is going to Dimock. If you want to join last minute and want to carpool, email abe@protectingourwaters.com or call him at 610-609-1026 (no promises, but he can do his best to connect drivers and riders).
