Why Shale Gas Outrage?
Residents and experts explain why thousands will protest in Philadelphia on Sept. 20th
The press conference will include: people who live with shale gas drilling in their region and will testify to the impacts on their lives, their communities and their family’s health; activists and organizers; experts in ecology and environmental engineering. Opportunity for questions to the speakers and informal interviews will be provided.

At this morning press conference Shale Gas Outrage will explain why the public is insisting that Pennsylvania and other shale regions must STOP FRACKING NOW and why it should be prevented from starting everywhere else. Thousands will rally from noon to 2:00 pm to protest the industry’s lobby group Marcellus Shale Coalition who will be meeting in the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Expressing the energy of the growing movement against fracking, the crowd will then march the streets of Philadelphia from 2:00 to 3:00 pm.
