NJ Governor Chris Christie vetoes liquefied natural gas operation

The tourism and fishing industries helped the communities, the environment, and public health win out with New Jersey Governor vetoing a plan for a proposed offshore natural gas project which would’ve included a terminal and over 50 miles of pipeline, in effect beginning the industrialization of the ocean.  This, and a few other projects were proposed to help intake foreign  natural gas supplies before the Marcellus Shale here in the North East became much more viable.  Hopefully this will open up options for more renewable energy projects like wind.
