Honesdale & Liberty DRBC Hearings; Drilling regulations please neither side
DRBC public hearings began yesterday held in both Honesdale Pennsylvania and Liberty New York. A deep divide was highly visible as citizens spoke up about the proposed regulations either being too tough or not remotely tough enough.
The Times Herald Record reports that ‘Many blast 83-page draft by DRBC‘
The Times Tribune reports ‘Hundreds turn out for hearing on Delaware River Basin drilling‘
WBGN Channel 12 Action News covered the Honesdale hearings.
So far it seems as if most people are being polite, but with PR firms providing free transportation and lunch to pro-drilling landowners and coaching them on what to say, it also appears that folks opposed to fracking need to stand up in large numbers, loudly, and intelligently at the Trenton NJ hearing Thursday February 24th.
