Peter Buckand is riding 120 miles from Central Pennsylvania to the State Capitol in Harrisburg to meet with Governor Tom Corbett and discuss the dangers of unconventional natural gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale.

“I have written to legislators, to the governor, signed petitions, gone to rallies, and now instead of getting responsibility and representation, we’re being sold out to an industry that doesn’t seem to mind turning Pennsylvania into a third-world country,” Buckland said. “I don’t have hundreds of thousands of dollars to give to a political campaign. I can’t buy lobby time, and the other things don’t seem to be working.”

In Governor Corbett’s recent budget address he clearly sided with parties in favor of drilling saying he wanted to turn PA into the “Texas of natural gas.”
