Cameron West Virginia Residents Concerned About Condition of Roads

March 24, 2011

In communities all along the Marcellus Shale there are growing concerns mounting in the face of the unconventional natural gas development.  Just across the border from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in Cameron West Virginia, residents are speaking up as their roads are deteriorating beneath the non-stop heavy truck traffic servicing drilling areas.  The rural roads in these areas are simply not made to withstand the 24/7 back and forth of all the heavy equipment needed to drill and frack.

“You gotta run a road grader over this. You can’t just dump gravel over it and drive away,” Cameron resident Sam Yoho said.
