Subject: Stop Fracking in the Susquehanna River Basin

Dear Friend,

Energy companies want you to believe that the natural gas drilling process called “fracking” is safe. Yet on the one year anniversary of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, another industry disaster is contaminating streams and threatening water supplies in Pennsylvania.

A natural gas well blew out during fracking operations, sending thousands of gallons of toxic fluid containing hazardous chemicals, some potentially cancer-causing — over fields and into Towanda Creek, which feeds the Susquehanna River and supplies water for millions of people in the area.

Take action now: Tell the Susquehanna River Basin Commission to put a moratorium on fracking until we can better protect our clean water.

Thank you for taking action to protect our rivers.
