Why is Gasland II coming to Trenton? The New Jersey Legislature is considering a vote to override Governor Chris Christie’s veto of the Frack Waste Ban Bill the week following the film showing. This toxic fracking waste ban was passed by a landslide bipartisan vote and we are on the verge of getting enough votes to override the veto. Pennsylvanians are fighting for their health through various statewide initiatives including a moratorium drive, demands for communities’ environmental protection, and efforts to make the government answer to the people, not the gas industry. The Delaware River Watershed drilling moratorium needs constant maintenance to protect our drinking water and the watershed. Fracking infrastructure fights are incredibly important as pipelines and compressor stations snake through the whole region, exploding, spewing emissions, hurting communities and climate everywhere. Josh will be here to lend his energy to these campaigns.
