Three Ways to Stop LNG Port off of New York/ New Jersey

August 22, 2013
Three Ways to Stop the Port Ambrose LNG Port: Write, Call, Show Up.
1) Send in comments online: The deadline is TODAY (August 22nd), a large number of comments are important, and it takes less than 5 minutes.
Talking points and detailed background for this facility are here at Sane Energy Project. If allowed, Port Ambrose LNG exports would induce and greatly escalate fracking in the Marcellus Shale region, hurt everyone by increasing climate impacts and cause a price spike for natural gas. It would also expose the local population to safety hazards, environmental and health impacts, threaten both the Jersey Shore and Jones Beach, and displace renewable energy projects.
Chances are that the Port Ambrose LNG export facility would negate wind farms planned for the same spot!
2) Call Governor Cuomo (518) 474-8390 and Governor Christie (609) 292-6000. They have veto power over this controversial facility. CALL BEFORE LABOR DAY.
3) Large meetup this weekend: Jones Beach organizers’ “Beach Leafletting Campaign” has been an effective way to get the word out about the LNG Port.
