Petition: Don’t Drill the Delaware

November 7, 2011

What:  Sign this petition voicing your opposition to shale gas drilling in the Delaware River Basin;  copy & paste this link to notify your friends via e-mail:  http://www.occupydrbc.org/

When: Monday November 7th til November 11th, 2011

Why: All five Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) voting members, President Obama and the governors of New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, need to be alerted to massive public opposition to hydrofracturing in the Delaware River watershed.  They must be urged to vote on November 21st to maintain the moratorium in the Delaware River Basin!

Who / where:  Because President Obama, represented by the Army Corps of Engineers, is a voting member of the DRBC; and because 5% of the entire population of the U.S. depends on clean water from the Delaware River Basin, this is a national issue.  All U.S. residents can raise their voices against fracking (high-volume slickwater hydraulic fracturing with horizontal drilling) the Delaware River basin.

Background:  Today we continue our defense of the Delaware River Basin against the impending DRBC vote which may approve regulations permitting fracking, against the public interest and the public will, by signing this important petition and, optimally, passing it on.

Further Action:  Signing one petition not enough for you?  Fantastic!  Write an effective letter, stay informed, and show up on November 21st in Trenton — Go for it.

Josh Fox Video:  Did you lose track of the Josh Fox video including the call to act on November 21st in Trenton?  Here it is (scroll down on homepage):  http://savethedelaware.wordpress.com/  — Pass it on!
