Missed Tuesday’s Mariner East Pipeline Protest? Here’s What Happened!
We marched…
And marched…
And sometimes stood!
People bundled up against the cold. The sidewalks were clear, but it was still snowing and bitterly cold.
If you watch this video in a freezer, you’ll have a rough idea of what it was like to be there.
Then Iris spoke (unfortunately, we didn’t get a video of all of it):
As did Matt Walker of Clean Air Council, one of our cosponsors:
And Cord Briggs of 350 Philadelphia, one of our cosponsors, and Clean Water Action:
And last but not least, Walter Tsou, of Physicians for Social Responsibility and a longtime friend of POW.
And after a little more standing and marching…
We were done–for today.
Thank you to everyone who braved the cold or used their precious snow-related time off to come out to protest. We were amazed and gratified at how many people showed up despite the weather, and honored by the heartfelt emails of regret sent by people stuck at home. We look forward to seeing you all again in balmier weather! (And/or this Saturday, but at least that will be indoors!)
